FISHING SOUTH PADRE
Fishing around and on South Padre Island can be like being in paradise. It is one of those rare places on earth where you can find a large verity of fish and easy access to so many ways to fish for them. From exceptionally shallow flats to extremely deep ocean. You can fish on boat, on piers and docks, the jetties, wade fishing the banks of the Lower Laguna Madre, and of course fishing on the beach. Enjoy fishing with friends and family here on South Padre.
South Padre Island is a resort community in Cameron County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Brownsville/Harlingen Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, the town had an official population of 2,422 people, although this significantly underestimates its size since many people split their time between vacation properties on South Padre and permanent residences elsewhere in the Rio Grande Valley. The town is located on South Padre Island, a barrier island along the Texas Gulf coast. South Padre Island is named after José Nicolás Ballí (Padre Ballí), a Catholic priest and settler.
The Island also offers a nice variety of activities for everyone in the family. Play on the beach, go golfing, enjoy the afternoon at Schlitterbahn Waterpark, ride horses, drive dune buggies, go dolphin watching, dine at some of the many South Padre restaurants or enjoy cocktails while watching the beautiful sunsets over the bay. You'll find plenty of other activities on South Padre Island besides deep sea fishing.
